Bhubaneswar: Manisha Merel from Odisha’s Sambalpur University struck gold in the women’s long jump event with 6.22 metre at the Khelo India University Games (KIUG) in the Odisha capital on Friday.
This was her third gold in the event.
On Thursday, University athletes from Odisha had bagged gold medals in two events.
Weightlifter and a student of Behrampur University, Manoj Sahu won the gold medal in men’s 73 kg weight category with a total lift of 267 kg.
Archers Sraban Kumar, Suryamani and Ranjit Naik of KIIT University, which is hosting the event, won the team gold medal in the Recurve Men category of Archery.
Archer Ranjit Naik had earlier won silver medal in men’s individual recurve event while Kumbheswar Mallik of KIIT University had bagged a bronze medal in the 55kg weightlifting event on Wednesday.
