Panchkula: Odisha signed off with a pair of silver medals in the Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) 2022 held across several venues in Haryana.
Odisha featured in the title-round of both boys’ and girls’ kho-kho competition on Monday. They came up just short, against Maharashtra in both finals.
It was especially heartbreaking for the Odisha girls, who gave Maharashtra a run for their money only to lose by the narrowest of margins (20-21).
The Odisha boys also put up a spirited fight before bowing 11-14 to Maharashtra.
Despite clinching both kho-kho gold medals, Maharashtra finished second in the overall championship.
Hosts Haryana topped the standings with 52 gold, 39 silver and 46 bronze medals, while Maharashtra bagged 45 gold, 40 silver and 40 bronze medals.
