Bhubaneswar: It was double delight for Odisha’s Jyoshna Sabar at the Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) 2023, being held in Tamil Nadu, on Friday.
The 15-year-old weightlifter clinched gold medal in the 40 kg category with a total lift of 130 kg.
In the process, Jyoshna created a National Youth record in Snatch as she lifted 60 kg, besides managing 70 kg in Clean and Jerk.
Jyoshna, a trainee of Odisha Weightlifting HPC, is one of Odisha’s brightest and most talented sportspersons.
She was adjudged best lifter in Youth category at last month’s IWLF National Weightlifting Championship in Arunachal Pradesh.
