KJo Slams Podcasters For Making ‘Clickbait Content’ To Get More Views

Mumbai: Filmmaker Karan Johar on Saturday slammed podcasters for spreading negativity by making clickbait content to get more views.

In his long note on Instagram, KJo called out the podcasters for inviting guests and astrologers, who speak negative things about ‘hardworking’ people of the film fraternity, and for making scary revelations about one’s impending death.

“While I have utmost respect for credible and respectable members of the media! One sub culture of podcasters (basically chat shows with new age terminology) who have emerged from the woodworks… woods that no GPS can locate… they invite guests who have nothing to lose. Who haven’t been invited since World War 2, and those guests spew venom and say the most disrespectful things about hardworking and legendary members of our fraternity!” the filmmaker posted.

He continued, “This needs to stop! Also psychics and astrologers giving awful and scary revelations even about people’s impending death is both insensitive and disgusting! Free speech? Yes. Clickbait for followers? No!!”

However, the filmmaker didn’t name any podcaster in his long post.

On the work front, Karan recently co-produced Triptii Dimri and Sidhant Chaturvedi starrer ‘Dhadak 2’, which released in theatres on August 1.

The film was a remake of Tamil film ‘Pariyerum Perumal’.

Next, Karan will be featuring in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’, which is set to release on Netflix on September 18.

The filmmaker won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment for ‘Rocky Aur Rani kii Prem Kahani’ earlier this month.
