Know About Odisha-Born IES Officer Kamala Kant Tripathy Appointed To EAC-PM

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Odisha-born IES officer Kamala Kant Tripathy was recently appointed Joint Secretary, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM), NITI Aayog, for a five-year tenure.

He is among 35 officers from all-India services deputed to new posts in an administrative reshuffle on March 21.

Tripathy will succeed Pawan Kumar Sam, a 2005-batch lAS officer.

Prior to this, he served as Economic Adviser (Tuberculosis) in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and also as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Union Minister Amit Shah in the Ministry of Cooperation.

Born in Cuttack, Tripathy completed his post-graduation in Economics from erstwhile Ravenshaw College. He also did LLB from Madhusudan Law College and PhD in Management from IIT Delhi. He secured third rank in the Odisha Civil Services Examination held in 1997 and served as Additional Tehsildar in Kendrapada district.

He cracked the Indian Economic Service (IES) Examination in 1999 when he also secured a third rank.

Tripathy is known as a policy maker and data analyst in the fields of agriculture, cooperatives and rural development. He has more than 83 research publications to his credit.
