Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s former Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay has been nominated as an independent member of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
The former DGP is now working as Chairman of Odisha Staff Selection Commission.
Abhay had earlier worked as Director of SVPNPA.
While the Union Home Secretary is the chairman of the police academy, Intelligence Bureau Director, Police Research and Development Bureau Director, Additional Secretary (Home Ministry), DGPs of Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh, and BSF DG are among members of the academy.
