Bhubaneswar: The daily caseload saw an almost 30 per cent jump with 1,043 people testing positive for COVID as Odisha began the free booster dose campaign for 18 to 59 age group on Friday.
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation launched the 75-day campaign, which is part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, at 10 am in presence of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange and Health and Family Welfare director Bijay Kumar Panigarhi.
The civic body later tweeted to inform that slot booking for the beneficiaries in Bhubaneswar will start soon.
It had earlier shared information about 12 vaccination centres and the timings for getting the shot.
Notably, the capital city had reported 280 new cases, which took the active tally to 980 on Thursday. Khurda has again reported the highest 335 new infections in the last 24 hours.
Similarly in Berhampur, booster doses are being made available at 8 UPHCs from Friday. Citizens have been requested to book the slot online after 9 am.
