Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate four new buildings of the Rama Devi Women’s University on Monday.
Official sources said that the Chief Minister during his 15-minute stay at the university will dedicate a new library hall named after the renowned poetess Kuntala Kumari Sabat, a new Arts block and Science block and a new hostel for the research scholars.
Among the four new buildings, three buildings have been constructed with central assistance under the Rashtriya Uchchattar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) and one with the financial assistance of the state government.
In view of the visit of the Chief Minister, the entire campus of the university has been cleaned and the buildings have been decorated with lights.
To welcome the Chief Minister, the university students will perform a cultural programme.
Along with the regular students, the alumni of the university will also attend the function.
Higher Education Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo and BJD MLA Ananta Narayan Jena will be guests at the function, which will be presided over by the vice-chancellor of the University Prof Aparajita Choudhury.
