Bhubaneswar: Rukuna Rath Yatra (the car festival of Lord Lingaraj) will be celebrated in the Odisha capital on Ashokastami on April 20.
This was announced after the Lingaraj temple administration held a meeting with servitors on Rukuna Rath Yatra and Bahuda Yatra
The administration and servitors decided to follow the ritualitic schedule that was decided last year.
On the day of Ashokastami, the Mangala Alati will be held at 5 am.
After this, the Abakasha Niti will be performed. Then the other rituals will be held.
Srijiu Pahandi will be held in between, 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm.
Pulling of the chariot will begin at 3.30 pm.
The cart will reach at Rameshwar temple at 7.30 pm. Other rituals will be performed there after 7.30 pm.
Likewise, the Bahuda Yatra will be held on April 24. The Adharapana Bhoga will be offered at 1.30 pm and Pahandi Niti will be held at 3 pm.
