Bhubaneswar: Five persons from Khurda tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, taking the affected tally in the district to 82.
According to sources, three among them belong to Bhubaneswar sub-division and two to Khurda sub-division.
One case each has been detected in Balipatna, Sisupalgarh, area under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation limits and Galvar village of Hirapur panchayat under Begunia block in Bhubaneswar sub-division.
A 41-year-old man and his three-year-old son have tested positive for the virus in Khurda. The father-son duo had returned from Ahmedabad on May 10 and were under quarantine. They have been shifted to Bhubaneswar-based COVID hospital, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Khurda district informed.
The district administration, however, has announced no new containment zones. Instead it has decided to clamp Section 144 in these areas to contain the spread of the virus, the sources added.
With 51 patients having recovered from the disease, Khurda now has 28 active cases.
