Bhubaneswar: With the Centre allowing people stranded overseas and in other Indian states returning to return to their native places, the Odisha government on Wednesday issued guidelines for all returnees.
Briefing the media here, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena said passengers who are on way to Odisha have to strictly abide by the following guidelines:
— Odia passengers returning from other states by train and overseas non-resident Odias (NROs) availing of special flights have to register in the government portal before arrival.
— If any passenger has not registered, the government will ask him/her to register.
— The districts and villages will be informed in advance about the details of NROs coming by flights.
— After the plane lands in Bhubaneswar, airport authorities will ask 20 passengers to unboard the flight at a time.
— Passengers will undergo thermal screening and a stamp will put in their hand.
— Any passenger with Covid-19 symptoms will be taken to the Covid hospital and those with no symptoms will be allowed to proceed to their destination in their own vehicle. Those who don’t have personal vehicle can avail of cabs or city bus.
— On reaching home, they can opt for either home or paid quarantine.
— Stickers will be put up on the walls of house of the returnees staying in quarantine.
— Violation of quarantine rule will attract legal action under the Epidemic Diseases Act.
— In case any returnee falls sick, he/she will call 104 instead of visiting the hospital in person.
Following are guidelines to be followed by those returning by trains:
— The government will collect details of passengers like address and travel history.
— Balasore and Cuttack railway stations will be sealed after arrival of trains with passengers from other states.
— Passengers will undergo thermal screening at a special centre in the station premises.
— Any passenger with Covid-19 symptoms will be taken to the Covid hospital and those with no symptoms will be allowed to proceed to their destination in their vehicle. Those who don’t have personal vehicle can avail of cabs or city bus.
— Passengers on way to their house will not halt en route. They can opt for either home or paid quarantine.
— Any train returnee violating quarantine rule will be prosecuted under the Epidemic Diseases Act and taken to the government quarantine centre.
