Adarsh Pratap, who manages climate activist Greta Thunberg’s Facebook account is a native of Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram. But he has nothing to do with the comment made by the activist on the farmers’ protest in India, India Today quoted him as saying on Friday.
Adarsh Pratap has been under cyber backlash after Greta Thunberg extended her support for farmers’ protest against the Centre’s farm laws. It has been alleged that Adarsh Pratap advised Greta Thunberg to comment on farmers’ protests. Since she commented on the farmers’ protest, there have been several attempts to hack Adarsh Pratap’s Facebook account.
An attempt was made to hack Greta’s Facebook account when a scuffle broke out between Greta and former US President Donald Trump on Twitter. It was then Adarsh Pratap’s name came out in the open that he was managing Greta’s Facebook account.
“In 2017-18, UN Security Council called a summit on Germany related to climate change. I met Greta Thunberg there and she was only 16 at the time. She gave me her Facebook account to manage” Adarsh Pratap was quoted as saying.
“When I acquired Greta Thunberg’s Facebook account, she had only 10,000 followers and my job was to share her Twitter messages on climate change on her Facebook page. Greta Thunberg is the one who posts political comments on Facebook and she is the one who shared her opinion on farmers’ protest on Facebook. I have not given any information about the farmers’ protest to Greta Thunberg. Everything she said on Twitter was her own opinion,” Adarsh Pratap added in the report.
“The main purpose is to spread the message of climate change around the world and Greta Thunberg’s opinion on the rest is her personal decision. I am not part of it,” he was further quoted as saying.
