Dhenkanal: The Dhenkanal district administration on Thursday has once again put a slab on the maximum number of guests in marriages, thread ceremony, funerals and related gatherings.
The number of guests has been restricted to 100 for the social functions in the district.
The order is applicable for all people attending such events, including including hosts, guests, priests, catering and other support staff with adherence to COVID-19 safety protocols, stated an order of the Collector’s office.
The district administration took the step after detection of 53 COVID-19 positive cases in a Plus Two residential college in Dhenkanal town.
The 100 ceiling on number of persons is applicable to official meetings and gatherings come into immediate effect until further orders.
Notably, another 16 students of a +2 residential college in Kunjakanta area in Dhenkanal town have tested positive for COVID-19. With this, the number of cases in the educational institution rose to 53.
The Dhenkanal Municipality authorities have sealed buildings of the college and its hostel, declaring the campus as micro containment zone.
