Bhubaneswar: Three-tier security ring has been put in place for smooth conduct of the winter session of the Odisha Assembly, beginning Wednesday.
Reviewing the security arrangements, Twin City Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi said that prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC have been clamped on all roads connecting the Assembly to check any agitation.
“30 platoons of police force comprising 6 Addl SPs, 11 ACPs, 11 Inspectors and 62 officers will be deployed. Five control rooms have been set up at key places to monitor the situation. Besides, Quick Action Team (QAT) and Special Tactical Unit (STU) have been kept on standby,” he said.
Traffic arrangements are being supervised by DCP Traffic. Further, senior officers have been designated to monitor the situation in and outside the Assembly in coordination with the Special Branch, he added.
The winter session will continue till December 31 and have 26 working days. The House will meet for around five hours daily.
