Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital will commemorate Odisha’s maritime glory with nine-day Bali Jatra fair on its outskirts from Tuesday evening.
It is being held on the Kuakhai riverbank near Mancheswar Jaripatna village.
Expecting a huge crowd, the Commissionerate Police have strengthened security arrangements around the place.
Traffic restrictions have been imposed from 3 pm to 11 pm. No vehicles will be parked on the riverbanks of Mancheswar to Barimunda on these days.
Heavy vehicles and tourist buses, coming from Patia and Nandankanan, will not be allowed to pass through Nuakhai riverbank and instead diverted to Patia Bridge Square and Padmakesharpur.
The two-wheelers and four wheelers, coming from Baranga, can park the vehicles near Barimunda water tank.
Notably, it is for the third time that Bhubaneswar will be hosting Bali Jatra.
The Kuakhai riverbank has been decorated with colourful lights. Meena Bazaar and joy rides are the added attractions at the fair.
