Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday released the travel history of the person, who tested positive for COVID-19 the previous day in Kalahandi district.
The 20-year-old is a resident of Golamunda and had come in the Baharin-returned positive case on April 4. He was shifted to institutional quarantine on April 5. He was asymptomatic and his samples were collected during routine surveillance. The results received on April 9 showed that he had contracted the infection, the I & PR department tweeted on Friday.
Earlier in the day, CDMO Jagu Agrawal had informed that the youth had played cricket with the first patient from the district.
“The district administration during the contract tracing of the first patient had kept the second youth in hospital isolation and sent his blood and swab samples for tests. The results later confirmed that he was corona positive,” he said.
The youth has been admitted to Ashwini Hospital in Cuttack, he added.
