Bhubaneswar: The Police Commissionerate of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack on Tuesday issued traffic regulations in view of Ashokastami Car festival of Lord Lingaraj in the city on Wednesday.
The Police Commissionerate, in a release, stated that it will impose certain restrictions during the Car Festival for the convenience and safety of general public. Following regulations may be imposed for the smooth flow of vehicular traffic from 1 pm till the chariot reaches Mausimaa Temple:
I. No vehicles will be allowed on Rath Road from Mausimaa Chowk. They will be diverted either towards Museum Chowk or Vivekananda Marg.
2, The vehicles plying on Rath Road from Lingaraj Temple will be allowed upto Tinimundia Chowk where they will be diverted towards right side for their destination.
3. No vehicle will bc allowed to emerge at Rath Road from lanes/by-lanes between Tinimundia Chowk and Mausimaa Chowk.
Any violation of the order will invite a minimum fine of Rs 500 which may extend upto Rs 1000, the release stated.
