Puri: The hearing on modifying the June 18 Supreme Court order, stalling Rath Yatra across Odisha, is underway. Devotees and people in the Pilgrim Town of Puri are waiting with bated breath for a favourable verdict from the apex court.
Odisha Bytes spoke to a few denizens and this is what they had to say:
Bulu Khuntia, Servitor
The verdict that we all have been waiting for has already arrived, the Centre and the state are already in agreement. God is with us, Rath Yatra is bound to happen.
Priyadarshan Pattnaik, Jagannath Sena
The political parties are using this opportunity to score brownie points, the intellectuals are prophecising, but it’s only Lord’s will that prevails. Rath Yatra will happen and no one can hinder it.
We are ready and willing to abide by the social distancing norms and the directive of the administration. We want to see our dear Lord get on with his annual sojourn at any cost.
Surya Narayan Gochhikar, Treasurer at Pratihari Nijog, Jagannath Temple
We were unhappy with the turn of events, but now things seem to be heading in a positive direction. Happy days are ahead.
