Cuttack: After the frustrating disruption in the 2nd ODI against England due to floodlight malfunction, Team India skipper Rohit Sharma was captured sharing a lighthearted moment with Chief Minister Mohan Majhi at Barabati Stadium on Sunday.
The CM was seen extending his hand which Rohit warmly clasped shortly after the presentation ceremony. The two then engaged in a brief but lively conversation on the ground, with Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) secretary Sanjay Behera looking on.
The skipper also raised his hand, congratulating him for the victory.
“Rohit played a scintillating century today. He not only regained his explosive form but also guided India to a resounding victory, sealing the one-day series. During our conversation, he expressed his love for Odisha. He said, ‘I love Odisha very much, and Barabati Stadium is a lucky ground for us,’” Majhi told reporters.

A cricket enthusiast, the CM watched the match from the Legends Gallery along with other distinguished guests. He also shared the podium during the post-match award ceremony.
The cricket-crazy public of Odisha was thrilled to watch the return to form of ‘Hitman’ Rohit Sharma, who scored a sublime 119 off 90 balls (12×4, 7×6) as the home team overhauled England’s 304 in 44.3 overs losing six wickets.
