Puri: In good news for devotees of Lord Jagannath, there are plans to reopen Srimadir here by the second or third week of December, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) informed on Tuesday.
Special SoP will be formulated for the devotees visiting the shrine, SJTA Chief Administrator Krishan Kumar said.
Earlier on November 17, Kumar had said that a committee comprising himself, the Puri SP and Collector was formed to deliberate on the reopening of the temple for devotees.
The committee was tasked with preparing a blueprint to ensure that the devotees will be able to have darshan by adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.
The committee will also decide on the number of devotees allowed to enter the temple. Besides, the temple managing committee will also have a meeting in this regard with the Chhattisha Nijog.
“While it will take at least one month to finalise the blueprint, the temple administration will be ready tentatively by the third week of December. After the blueprint is finalised, the temple administration will have a meeting with the state government. It is up to the state government to take a decision. Once the government gives the green signal, the temple administration will allow the darshan of the Lords,” he had pointed out.
