Know Which Routes To Avoid During Ravana Podi In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Twin City Commissionerate Police on Tuesday issued traffic advisory for Ravana Podi Utsav scheduled at five locations in the Odisha capital.

The Restrictions

  • The restrictions will apply from 4 pm to 1 am
  • All vehicles heading from Bhubaneswar to Cuttack will be diverted from Jaydev Vihar to CRP Square via Behera Sahi Chhak, Power House Chhak, Unit-8 DAV School Chhak towards Stewarts School Square.
  • All vehicles entering the city from Khurda will be diverted from Kolathia Square towards Chandaka via Jayadev Vatika, Naka Gate, Kalinga Studio Chhak and Bharatpur Square.

People scheduled to board train and flights from the Bhubaneswar railway station and Biju Patnaik International Airport have been advised to plan their journey keeping in view the diversions and heavy traffic during Ravana Podi.

The violators will be slapped with Rs 500-Rs 1000 fine, police sources said.

Speaking to the media, Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi said that traffic will be diverted and security measures on some routes tightened for Ravana Podi. “People going to Cuttack will have to take Patia-Barang route,” he added.
