Know Which Services Are Allowed During New Year Eve Night Curfew In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In view of possible congregation of people for Zero Night celebration on New Year Eve strict measures have been taken by the Special  Relief Commissioner and Commissionerate Police to check the spread of COVID-19 in the two cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

While night curfew will be place from 10 pm tonight to 5 am, prohibitory orders under Section 144 will be imposed from 9 pm. However, some essential services have been exempted.

Know who and which services have been exempted from the curfew:

  • Ambulance and all medical personnel including doctors and paramedics on duty
  • Owner and staff of chemist shops
  • Any person on medical or other emergency
  • District and municipal administration or police, fire services and other State or Central Government officials on emergency duty
  • Defence and Central Armed Police Forces on duty
  • Journalists and staff of media houses (both print and electronic) on duty on production of ID cards
  • Staff of IT and ITes companies on production of their ID cards
  • Operations of airports, railway stations, bus terminals and their associated offices
  • Movement of public transport, private vehicles and taxis to and from airports, railway station
  • Passengers arriving at railway station and airport will be allowed to go to their destination
  • Movement of transiting vehicles on highways
  • Goods and goods carriers (loaded or unloaded) shall also be allowed
  • Petrol pumps on 24X7 duty will also remain open
