Bhubaneswar: Samriddhi Sakunia, the Odisha journalist, one of the two women arrested in Tripura late on Sunday, is an active YouTuber, besides working for HW News Network.
The 21-year-old did her schooling at St Mary’s Convent School at Jharsuguda in Odisha. Her father, Gopal Sukunia, runs a dry fruits shop while her mother, Kavita Sukunia is a homemaker. She has an elder sister, who practises law in Mumbai.
Her YouTube videos of the past eight months on youtu.be/pZrloyyjeZ4 show her commenting and reporting a range of issues, right from love jihad, to the farmers’ protest, fuel prices, Nandigram incident, new IT rules and the Twitter controversy.
