Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will hoist the National Flag and take the salute at the state-level Independence Day celebrations in Bhubaneswar on August 15.
According to the arrangements announced by the state government, Deputy Chief Ministers K V Singh Deo and Pravati Parida will hoist the tricolour in Kalahandi and Sundaragada respectively during the Independence Day celebrations.
Ministers have been assigned to lead the celebrations in several other districts. Suresh Pujari will attend the programme in Kataka, Rabi Narayan Naik in Anugola, Nityananda Gond in Malkangiri, Krushna Chandra Patra in Sambalpur, Prithiviraj Harichandan in Ganjam, Mukesh Mahaling in Rayagada, Bibhuti Bhusan Jena in Kandhamala and Krushna Chandra Mahapatra in Khordha.
Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia will attend the Independence Day programme in Puri, while Suryabanshi Suraj, Pradeep Bal Samanta, Gokulananda Mallik and Sampad Chandra Swain have been assigned to Balangir, Baleshwar, Gajapati and Koraput, respectively.
In the remaining districts, the celebrations will be led by senior administrative officials. The RDC (Central Division) will attend the programme in Jagatsinghpur, while the RDC (Southern Division) will attend in Brahmapur.
Collectors have been assigned to lead the celebrations in Baragada, Bhadrak, Boudh, Debagada, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kendrapada, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Nayagada, Nuapada and Subarnapur.
The Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Raurkela, will attend the Independence Day programme in Raurkela.
