Hyderabad: The Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi starrer ‘Thandel’, presented by Allu Arjun’s father Allu Aravind, will be releasing in theatres this week.
During a recent promotional event of the film in Hyderabad, Allu Aravind told Galatta Plus that no Bollywood actress could have justice to the role which Sai Pallavi has played in the film.
“I have taken Sai Pallavi, I should say it is a commercial decision. I can’t bring somebody from Bombay; a beautiful white-skin girl from Bombay for this character. This is a very rooted character and the genuinity has to be projected. Sai Pallavi is extraordinary in projecting the genuinity of the character. That’s why we casted her in the film,” Allu Aravind said while discussing about the casting of the film.
While praising Sai Pallavi, he added, “She has done an extremely good job in this.”
The ‘Thandel’ presenter further shared that he is quite happy that the film has turned out to be better than what he had predicted.
Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, ‘Thandel’ is based on a true story of a fisherman from Srikakulam, who accidentally drifted to the waters of Pakistan.
Produced by Bunny Vasu under Geetha Arts, the film, which was initially scheduled to release during Sankranti, will now be releasing on February 7.
The film will be released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu languages.
