New Delhi: Kolkata rape and murder case accused Sanjay Roy who is lodged at Presidency Correctional Home is reportedly not happy over the simple “roti-sabzi” meal served to him. Roy has demanded that he should be allowed to eat egg chowmein.

However, according to jail rules, all inmates must eat the same food prepared for every other prisoner. Thus, Roy’s demand for egg-chowmein could not be met. When was served roti and vegetables he was angry with the meal. However, after being reprimanded by the jail staff, he finally agreed to eat, News18 reported quoting sources in prison.

Earlier, when Roy was brought to Presidency Correctional Home from CBI custody, he requested the jail staff that he be allowed to get some sleep. He was also found to be mumbling at times. However, he has returned to his normal self after a few days.

Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating the RG Kar Hospital rape and murder case. On Friday, The CBI team questioned the former principal of Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College, Sandeep Ghosh again.

CBI summoned Sandeep Ghosh for the 14th consecutive day in connection with the investigation of the rape and murder of the trainee doctor. Officials said the agency has already questioned Ghosh for more than 140 hours.

Apart from this heinous crime, Ghosh is also under the CBI’s radar for the financial scam case in the hospital, in which officials have already registered an FIR against him and other institutions. The CBI officials also searched the former principal’s residence last Sunday and questioned him.

The rape and killing of the junior doctor in a seminar hall of the hospital earlier in August has sparked widespread protests. The medic’s body with severe injury marks was found inside the seminar hall of the hospital’s chest department in the morning of August 9. Roy was arrested the following day. On August 13, the Calcutta High Court ordered the transfer of the probe from the Kolkata Police to the CBI, which started its investigation on August 14.
