Konark Sun Temple In Odisha Again Hit By Waterlogging After Heavy Rain

Bhubaneswar: With heavy downpour disrupting normal life in several parts of Odisha, visitors at the famous Konark Sun Temple had a tough time as the heritage site witnessed severe waterlogging.

Tourists were seen wading through knee-deep water as the entrance of the Sun temple was completely submerged following incessant rain.

The temple premises have been inundated with knee-deep water following torrential rain, causing inconvenience to the visitors. The main road leading to the temple and surrounding areas were submerged with water. Some tourists reportedly sustained injuries while wading through knee-deep water at the iconic site.

In view of the situation, pumps have been installed to drain water from the temple premises for the convenience of the visitors.

Notably, water logging at Konark Sun Temple is not a new phenomenon. Even a brief spell of rainfall triggers flooding at the Sun Temple. However, the authorities are yet to to provide a permanent solution to the perpetual problem. As a result, domestic and international tourists often encounter inconveniences during rain.
