Bhubaneswar: Senior Congress leader and MP from Odisha’s Koraput Saptagiri Ulaka was on Friday appointed the party’s in-charge for four states.
As per a press release issued by the AICC, Saptagiri Ulaka has been appointed the in-charge of Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim and Nagaland.
Similarly, Odisha has also got a new Congress in-charge. The Congress president has appointed former Uttar Pradesh MLA Ajay Kumar Lallu as the party in-charge of Odisha
Lallu replaces Ajoy Kumar, a former IPS officer, as the AICC in-charge for Odisha.
Lallu had been elected to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly twice in the past. He had also served as the president of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee.
It may be noted that the AICC had appointed former Union Minister Bhakta Charan Das as the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president three days ago.
