Cuttack: Koraput district has won the state level quiz competition for the judicial officers of Odisha, while Gajapati and Sundargarh emerged first and second runners-up respectively.
The quiz competition was organised in collaboration with an expert organisation QShala to celebrate the 75th year of establishment of the Orissa High Court.
The quiz was organized in 3 phases including 2 Preliminary Rounds, 6 Zonal Rounds and the Grand Finale. Six districts, each representing its zone, participated in the final competition held at Odisha Judicial Academy in Cuttack on Sunday in presence of S Muralidhar, Chief Justice and the Judges of the High Court of Orissa.
The questions asked in the quiz were on the topics of law, politics and social studies from the lens of history, culture, music, movies, art and technology. Chief Justice Muralidhar, Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo and Justice Chittaranjan Dash Prizes distributed the prizes among the winning teams at a function held after the final round.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Justice said a string of events have been organised to celebrate 75th year of the High Court, but the quizzes for the law students and the judicial officers have been the most enjoyable. He hoped that the competition will be held every year and wanted a quiz competition for judicial officers at the national level.
