Kriti Sanon Recreates Viral ‘Obsession’ Scene As Uncut Version Gears Up For Hindi Release

Mumbai: Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon have recreated a memorable scene from the horror film ‘Obsession’ alongside director Amar Kaushik, a day before its Hindi version premieres on JioHotstar.

The actors lend their voices to Bear and Nikki, respectively, in the Hindi version of the film.

In a video shared on social media, Varun and Kriti recreate the tense restaurant scene in Hindi, sitting across from each other.

Kriti captures Nikki’s unsettling demeanour, while Varun steps into Bear’s role.

Amar Kaushik also joins the duo, recreating the original scene’s bizarre and increasingly uncomfortable atmosphere.

The video has drawn an enthusiastic response on X, with several viewers praising Kriti’s performance.

One user wrote, “That voice modulation, those expressions changing in split seconds, oh DAMNNN she’s gonna nail her horror movie. SEATED FOR IT.”

Another commented, “Oh my god they’re actually doing a great job.”

A third user wrote, “I don’t think anyone could voice Nikki better than Kriti She’s so versatile, and the way she nailed the acting as well is just amazing!”

‘Obsession’ follows Bear Bailey (Michael Johnston), a shy music store employee who struggles to express his feelings for his co-worker Nikki (Inde Navarrette).

His life takes a turn when he discovers a mysterious toy called the One Wish Willow at a crystal shop and wishes for Nikki to love him more than anything in the world, ignoring the cashier’s warning about its consequences.

While his wish initially appears to come true, Nikki’s affection soon turns obsessive and violent.

As their relationship spirals into a nightmare, Bear must find a way to undo his wish before it is too late.

Made on a reported budget of just $750,000 (approximately ₹7.5 crore), Obsession has reportedly grossed $522 million worldwide, including $263 million in the domestic market and $253 million internationally.

The film’s reported box-office success has brought director Curry Barker widespread attention in Hollywood.

After attracting audiences worldwide, including in India, ‘Obsession’ is now heading to streaming.

The uncut original version, starring Inde Navarrette and Michael Johnston, will premiere on JioHotstar’s Peacock Hub on October 30 at 7 pm.
