Koraput: The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) handed over Kunduli gang
rape survivor to her family members on Tuesday.
“Permission was granted to the minor girl to stay at home after
receiving a written application from her family members over the same.
The girl has also been asked not to leave Koraput district without
permission”, CWC member Pratima Rath informed.
On Saturday, the victim’s mother had lodged a complaint with
Mangalabag police alleging that her daughter is receiving death
threats from the authorities of SCB Medical College and Hospital in
Cuttack, police and District Child Protection Officer (DCPO).
According to the complainant, those against whom the FIR has been
lodged are preventing the victim from being discharged from the SCB in
an attempt to suppress the incident.
On the other hand, the doctors treating the girl had stated that her
mental condition is not stable and she appears depressed.
On November 19, the girl was shifted to SCB from Saheed Laxman Nayak
Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.She was hospitalised
after blood was found in the vomit.
The Class-IX student of Kunduli in Koraput district was allegedly gang
raped by four security personnel on October 10 while returning from
school.
