Kuwait To Deport Expats Who Protested Over Remarks Against Prophet Muhammad

Kuwait: The Kuwait government is set to take strict action against expats from Fahaheel who organized and took part in a demonstration after Friday prayers in support of Prophet Muhammad.

According to the Arab Times, instructions have been issued to arrest and deport Asian Muslim expats, including Indians, who protested against now-expelled BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s objectionable comments against the Prophet.

The expats, who had gathered at Fahaheel area in Kuwait City, violated the laws and regulations of the country which prohibit sit-ins or demonstrations by expats in Kuwait.

A video of the demonstration, shared on social media, showed the protestors holding placards chanting slogans against Nupur.

The expats who were part of the demonstration will never be allowed to enter the country.

“All expats in Kuwait must respect Kuwait laws and not take part in any type of demonstrations,” the government said.
