Bhawanipatna: Khadi and Village Industries Commission provided four sets of tamarind processing tools and equipment to four self-help-groups (SHGs) of Lanjigarh and T Rampur blocks in Kalahandi district on Friday.
Each set consists of a de-seeding machine, one screw pressing machine, one weighing machine, 10 hammers, 10 steel stools, two tarpaulins, among others.
The machineries were handed over to poor artisans at a function organised by KVIC State Office at PD, DRDA Office here.
Project Director of DRDA, Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, directed the district officials to identify entrepreneurs who could set up value added product units like tamarind lollypop, lozenges, jelly, chutni etc by availing the benefits from PMEGP and PMFME Schemes.
