Bhubaneswar: Lalit Kumar Agrawalla, Deputy Director General (DDG) of NCC Odisha, relinquished command of the corps on Friday after rendering 35 years of exemplary service to Indian Navy.
While being at the helm of affairs as DDG, he played a pivotal role in expeditiously raising four NCC Battalions at Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Bhawanipatna and Keonjhar, thus bridging the existing gaps and reaching out to the youth of rural and tribal areas of the state.
Agrawalla worked relentlessly towards expanding the reach of NCC and providing a viable career option to the youth. Under his leadership, the state NCC consistently achieved unprecedented results in various competitions at the national level.
The officer also played a key role in the conduct of National Youth Festival and facilitated transfer of NCC land for completion of the stadium at Berhampur, which was long pending.
After such a successful innings, Agrawalla handed over the baton of NCC Odisha to Shailendra Singh, who is an ace aviator with enviable professional track record and maritime experience.
