New Delhi: Not for the first time, the BJP has targeted Rahul Gandhi over his foreign tours.
This time, the saffron party mocked the Leader of Opposition with a creative post on social media, sharing modified movie posters featuring the Congress leader along with witty one-liners.
BJP’s attack came after Rahul’s latest call for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over NEET-UG paper leak and CBSE exam irregularities.
BJP questioned his whereabouts, claiming he is “nowhere” to be found.
“As soon as elections arrive in the country… Taking flight to foreign lands upon defeat, this is Rahul Gandhi’s true identity! In the country’s politics, the question isn’t just about winning or losing elections, but also about fulfilling responsibilities. But Rahul Gandhi’s politics is limited only to winning and losing elections; he has no connection whatsoever with the people of the country,” read BJP’s post on X.
A series of spoof posters inspired by popular movie titles was linked to Rahul.
Among them were ‘Laapata Rahul’ (Missing Rahul) based on ‘Lapaata Ladies’; ‘Chhad De India’ (Leave India) from ‘Chak de! India’; ‘Rahul in Paris’ from ‘Emily in Paris’; ‘Go Rahul Gone’ from ‘Go Goa Gone’; ‘Pardesh’ in comparison to ‘Swades’.

BJP’s humorous dig at Rahul came hours before the Congress leader’s post on two years as Leader of Opposition.
“Today marks two years since I became the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. Every single day of these two years has been dedicated to one task — to carry the voice of every Indian to the corridors of power. Whether it’s the fight for NEET aspirants, exposing electoral fraud, or defending the Constitution, I have stood with you on every front, I stand with you today, and I always will. From the streets to Parliament, your trust is my greatest strength. The journey is long, but my resolve remains the same — I will keep fighting every battle for you. Jai Hind. Jai Constitution,” Rahul wrote on X.
The Congress defended Rahul’s overseas visits, asserting that he is invited to speak and engage by institutions and leaders across the world.
Veteran Congress leader Salman Khurshid described Rahul as a ‘global’ leader.
“Rahul Gandhi is not just a leader of our country alone. Many across the world consider him a leader. They want to listen to him, meet him and interact with him. Because of these repeated invitations, he is only able to take out limited time — two, four or five days — for each visit,” Khurshid said.
