Labourer Crushed To Death At Jute Mill In Odisha’s Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: Tension prevailed at a jute mill in Dhenkanal town after a labourer was crushed to death by a machine on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Prashant Rout, who hailed from Gurudijhatia village in Cuttack district.

Sources said Prashant was working in the milling unit of Kalinga Jute Product Pvt Ltd near Station Bazar area when the mishap occured. His shirt suddenly got caught in the roller machine. As a result, he was dragged inside the the roller and crushed to death.

The sources further said the deceased was working in the milling unit without wearing the safety kit.

Police said they have sent the body for post-mortem and launched an investigation.
