Rourkela: A labourer was injured in an explosion at blast furnace-5 of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on Wednesday morning.
The explosion took place after the hot air pipe burst inside the blast furnace, where the labourer was working. He was admitted to Ispat General Hospital (IGH) by some employees. He is out of danger, an official informed.
Production activities at the explosion site have been suspended for two days for carrying out repair work, the official added.
On February 7, three contractual labourers were critically injured after a similar explosion occurred at blast furnaces I and III of the plant.
