Balasore: People of Bhograi in Odisha’s Balasore district had a harrowing experiencing on Monday as drivers of the Location Accessible Multi-modal Initiative (LAccMI) buses ceased work.
The dirver are protesting to press for the fulfillment of their six-point demands.
The drivers protested after Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) allegedly failed to address their long-standing requests, which included limiting their work hours to 8 hours and establishing a fixed daily salary, said sources.
“The strike will continue till our demands are met,” the drivers said. So far, there has been no response from authorities on the situation.
Currently, six LAccMI buses operate in the block, providing affordable transportation for hundreds of commuters in the district. With the buses not running, many daily commuters are facing challenges, sources added.
