Lady Hotel Owner Shot Dead In Odisha’s Nuapada

Nuapada: A lady hotel owner was shot dead by two unidentified miscreants at Duajhar village under Khadial police limits in Nuapada district on Saturday night.

Sources said that two youths had come to a roadside dhaba near the village for dinner at 9 pm where they had a heated altercation with the lady owner Basanti Meher. Enraged, one of the youths suddenly opened fire from his revolver in which she sustained bullet injuries on her chest.

The youths later fled the area.

Soon after the incident, the hotel staff and some locals rushed her to the government hospital at Khadial where she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.

Following information, Khadial Police rushed to the hotel for an on-the-spot investigation.

Efforts are on to nab the culrpits, police said.
