Balangir: The husband of headmistress of a school allegedly beat up some students on its premises in Odisha’s Balangir district on Thursday.
According to sources, Rudra Kumbhar, the husband of Kunti Deep, the headmistress of Sandhitara Primary School under Tusra block in the district used to drop his wife and their granddaughter at the school everyday. On T
hursday also, they came to the school on a bike.
Rudra went to a toilet inside the school building but found it locked from inside. After he knocked on it for some time, two girls opened it. As they came out, an agitated Rudra started beating them up. As three other girl students gathered there, he assaulted them also.
As the students were injured in the assault, the school authorities admitted them in Tusra Hospital.
When contacted, District Education Officer (DEO) said he was aware of the incident and had directed the Block Education Officer (BEO) to conduct an investigation into the matter.
