Bhubaneswar: A traffic policewoman on duty at Xavier Square here has drawn applause for helping a woman with first-aid after an accident.
According to witnesses, the woman was injured in an accident. Following this, traffic constable Priyanka Barua helped her to the roadside and bandaged her leg by sitting on the road.
Praising Priyanka’s action, Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi tweeted, “This is Priyanka Barua of @DCP_TRAFFIC helping a citizen with first-aid at Xavier Square in Bhubaneswar today. Well done.”
In another humanitarian effort some days ago, some traffic constables on duty had helped a vegetable vendor by picking up fallen tomatoes from the road at the busy Airport Square.
The vendor was ferrying tomatoes on an auto-rickshaw when a few crates fell on the road. The vendor got down to collect them. Moved by his plight, a few passers-by also came forward to help the man.
Seeing this, traffic constables on duty stopped vehicular movement for a few minutes and helped the vendor to collect his tomatoes.
