Bhubaneswar: The Lagna (auspicious time for ritual) of ‘Nabanna Lagi’ ritual of Nuakhai Festival in Western Odisha was finalised on Saturday.
The ritual will be performed between 10.05 am and 10.20 am on September 3.
This was decided at a Pandit Mahasabha (meeting of priests) at Brahmapura Temple.
Nuakhai or Nuankhai is one of the most important festivals in Western Odisha when season’s first crop ‘Nabanna’ is offered to Goddess Samaleswari, the presiding deity of Sambalpur.
