Bhubaneswar: With Dussehra festivities gripping entire Odisha, people in all parts of the state, including villages, small towns and cities are celebrating the annual festival in their own way. Durga Puja pandals have also come up in several new places as celebrations rose to new heights in the state.
One such pandal has organised Durga Puja for the first time in state capital Bhubaneswar this year. The mandap set up by Kalinga Durga Puja Committee at KISS road is attracting a large number of devotees due to the unique theme adopted by the organisers.
Visitors are being drawn different parts of the capital city in large numbers because of the attractive tableau coupled with cultural programmes, including musical evenings. Food stalls set up at the venue offering mouth-watering items have also turned out to be another centre of attraction for youngsters.
Stating that special arrangements have been made for Maha Ashtami puja on Sunday, Kalinga Durga Puja Committee president Tapan Chakraborty told reporters that prasad has been arranged for over 4,000 devotees on this occasion. Eminent artists are presenting cultural programmes every evening at the puja venue, he said.
Similarly, Ravan Podi will also be held on Vijaya Dasami, while immersion of the idols will be with much enthusiasm and fervour, he said, adding that lakhs of devotees are expected to turn up to witness these events.
