Puri: Lakhs of devotees witnessed the Nabajauban Besha of Lord Jagannath and his siblings at Puri on Saturday.
People made a beeline for the pilgrim town since early morning for a glimpse of the trinity after a fifteen days break.
The deities had fallen sick after bathing with 108 pitchers of water and were escorted to Anasar Ghar, where they remained till they recovered following treatment by temple Vaidya. During this period, public darshan at the temple was closed.
After their recovery from sickness, the deities were given a fresh dress-up and traditional cosmetic care of the face and they appeared in Nabajauban Besha (new youthful attire) for public darshan.
The devotees had parimanik darshan after the south entrance of the temple was opened at 11:25 am.
Meanwhile, the state government has made special arrangements to ply 272 additional buses (30 Odisha State Road Transport Corporation buses and 30 private buses) to Puri from Rath Yatra till Suna Besha.
