Koraput: The land acquisition process for the software park to be set up by the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) in the district has been completed.
According to sources, the STPI executed the lease for 90 years with the district administration. The 2.8 acre of land is located at Phulabado on the outskirts of Jeypore.
The land was selected considering the transport convenience to railway station and bus terminus and nearest National Highway and the feasibility report was sent to the Central government for approval in 2015.
District collector Madhusudan Mishra said all formalities for the transfer of the land to STPI have been completed.
The software park will serve as front-end to software industry for government policies. Besides it will provide data communication and infrastructure facilities. The development and export of software and related services also come under the park’s purview, the sources said.
