New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, his parents Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi – both former chief ministers of Bihar — in the land-for-job scam case, PTI reported.
The second chargesheet in the case — filed on the basis of documents and evidence which surfaced after the first chargesheet was submitted – has named 14 others, officials said on Monday.
Among others named in this chargesheet are AK Infosystems and several middlemen in the case.
CBI has alleged that favourite candidates of the accused were appointed in the Railways without any advertisement or public notice. The agency claims that during Lalu Prasad’s tenure as Union minister in the UPA government from 2004 to 2009, substitutes from Patna were appointed in various zonal railways located in Mumbai, Jabalpur, Kolkata, Jaipur and Hazipur.
As a quid pro quo, the candidates allegedly sold land to Lalu Prasad’s family members at highly-discounted rates , either directly or through their immediate family members.
