Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday registered a case against former secretary of Odisha Olympic Association (OOA) Ashirbad Behera in connection with Barabati Stadium land grabbing allegation.
According to official sources, a case has been registered under Sections 120 (b) and 420 of IPC against Behera, M/s Incon Associates and unknown officials of OOA.
Earlier in the day, an eight-member team of the central investigating agency conducted simultaneous raids on OOA office and Behera’s residence at Barabati Stadium and that in the city.
“Going by the Supreme Court’s order, five places in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar were searched following allegations of land fraud. Several documents and land records have been seized,” an official informed.
Reacting to the raid, Behera said, “I have always cooperated with the investigation. However, truth will prevail.”
On April 3, the apex court directed the CBI to conduct a probe into the financial irregularities at Barabati Stadium and the land grab allegations.
