Bhubaneswar: Owner of a house and her son were arrested on Friday for allegedly stealing gold ornaments of their tenant in Dhauli area of Bhubaneswar.
The arrested persons have been identified as house owner Sonali Sahu and her son Biswaranjan Sahu.
According to police sources, Rajalaxmi Pradhan was staying as a tenant at Sonali’s house in the Lingipur area under the jurisdiction of Dhauli police station.
Because of some urgency, she suddenly went out around nine months ago after locking the house. Taking advantage of her absence, Sonali and her son allegedly entered the house and stole the ornaments the tenant had kept there.
Following her return, Rajalaxmi found her jewelleries missing and later lodged a complaint at Dhauli police station regarding the theft.
Based on the complaint, police launched an investigation and subsequently arrested Sonali and her son Biswaranjan. Police also reportedly recovered all the stolen ornaments from their possession.
