‘Lapse In Judgement..’: YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia Apologises After Backlash [Watch]

Mumbai: After massive backlash, YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia on Monday apologised for asking an inappropriate question to a contestant while appearing as one of the judges on India’s Got Latent.

“My comment was not appropriate and not even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry,” the podcaster said in a video message uploaded on his official X handle.

Allahbadia said he had been flooded with questions asking if he planned to use his platform in this way. “Obviously this is not how I wish to use it. I am not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. I am just here for an apology. I personally had a lapse in judgement. It wasn’t cool on my part,” he said.

“The podcast is watched by people of all ages, I don’t want to be the kind of person that takes that responsibility lightly and family is the last thing I would ever disrespect,” the 31-year-old said.

He said that the experience has made him realise that he needs to use his platform better.

The podcaster further stated that he has asked the markers of the roast show to removed the ‘insensitive portion’. “All I have to say at the end is that I am sorry and hope you can forgive me as a human being,” he added.

The controversy erupted after a clip of the latest episode of the show in which the social media influencer asked a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever”, went viral.

His statement also came a shock for Samaya Raina, known for his quick thinking and impeccable timing. “It seems you are asking the rejected questions of your podcast,” he said.
