Lahore: Amir Hamza of the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was shot by unidentified gunmen in Lahore on Thursday. He is currently in critical condition, reported various media.
The attack took place outside a news channel office in Lahore. The assailants opened fire on Hamza. He was rushed to a hospital immediately.
Hamza, a senior ideologue and co-founder of LeT, has long been associated with the group’s operations and propaganda machinery. He is known to have played a key role in recruitment, fundraising and negotiations.
A close associate of LeT chief Hafiz Saeed, Hamza was also involved in its publication wing and authored several works promoting extremist ideology. He was also the former editor of LeT’s magazine.
